It's Simple! It's Basic! It's Fun! It's
West Coast Boot Camp!
We've all come to a point in our lives where enough is
enough! We are unhappy about the way we look and the way we
feel about our bodies. Our energy level seems to always be
depleted while we consciously make unhealthy food choices
knowing it will be followed by guilt. We start out our days
with good intentions of packing our work-out bag so that we
can hit the gym after work. But inevitably by the time you
leave work you're completely exhausted so you just head
straight home for the couch and a cold beer. Does this sound
familiar to anyone? We've all been through this viscous
circle!! It's called lack of motivation, lack of
inspiration, lack of accountability, lack of self discipline
and lack of commitment. Why is it so hard to get yourself to
the gym? Well one of the main reasons is because there is no
accountability factor. No one at the gym is going to call
you and say, "hey where are you, we know you were "thinking"
about coming to they gym today." That is something that most
likely would not happen in the real world.
What makes
West Coast Boot Camp
a lot different than any other type of work-out program is
that we will help you to find that accountability within
yourself to get up and show up everyday. First because you
have to... then eventually it will be because you want ! So
don't be surprised if you don't show up for class that you
receive a phone call from your instructor wondering where
you were. So with all that said, here is what makes
West Coast Boot Camp
so much different than any other type of workout.
Boot Camp is an opportunity for you to make a commitment -
most importantly to yourself, then to your trainers, and
then to your classmates. It's one of the healthiest
addictions anyone can acquire. The awesome way that you feel
at the end of each workout is enough to keep you coming back
for more. It's an amazing sense of accomplishment that you
can feel by only 6:30 in the morning. Most people's alarms
are barely even going off yet.
So what is boot camp all about?
West Coast Boot Camp
is a
6 week military based work out... but don't let the word
"military" scare you off. It's something that anyone can do,
whether you're in shape, kind of in shape or way out of
shape. It doesn't matter if you're 15 or 65. Everyone is
able to work at their own pace and no one is judged on their
inability to perform certain exercises. We're all equals
just having fun and striving on bettering ourselves.
Although you will be encouraged to push yourself so you can
see how tough you really are!
The Boot Camp classes are set
outdoors, usually in a park setting. A typical day of
boot camp would involve starting with stretches followed
by running, stair climbing, sprints, lunges, military
push-ups, body sculpting with weights, abdominal work,
isometrics and always ending with more stretches. It's
not a hugely competitive atmosphere but sometimes
competition is encouraged just for fun! There will also
be a Physical Training Test conducted on each
individual's ability to perform certain exercises to
give a starting point of your fitness level. This test
will include how many push-ups and sit-ups can be
performed in 2 minutes, as well as a timed 1-mile run.
Each individual will be given instructions and helpful
hints for basic nutritional guidance along with a daily
food record to track all daily food intake.
*FOOD JOURNAL SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO CLASS DAILY FOR REVIEW BY YOUR INSTRUCTOR.
